Students are introduced to the formal elements in art & design. These include colour, line, tone, texture, pattern, shape and form. Students will experiment with a variety of different media and engage in observational drawing. Cycle 2 will continue to focus on developing drawing skills and will pay particular attention to the use of line, tone, pattern and texture in drawing.
Cycle 2 Week 1: Create a title page entitled ' Nature' inspiration for Art & Design. We shall focus on looking at the natural lines, pattens, surfaces and textures that are found on shells, leaves, bugs etc. Sketches and text. Week 2: Drawing with pencils, biro pens, pastels etc Week 3: Texture and surface explored through paper manipulation, collage and montage. Week 4: Focus on artist Peter Randall Page, recreating drawings in his style looking at walnuts. Week 5: Introduction to clay, mark making with this medium Week 6: Clay 2, creating tiles in the style of Peter Randall Page Week 7: Catch up week, completing sketchbook work and practical work
