​Week 1:

What is photography? Write an illustrated essay answering the question
Do your presentation on Google Slides and then share with me.

Here are a few questions that you might like to consider:

What is Photography?
What is the difference between digital and film photography?
Can Photography be an art form, if so why?
Why do people take photographs?
Can a photograph lie?
Why do you want to take photographs?
Who are your favourite photographers? Explain why (name at least 4)
How has digital photography changed people's opinion of photography
What do you want to explore and discover about photography?


These are just a few ideas to get you started, use your own ideas and be honest and original. Studying A Level Photography/Art will require you to be inquisitive, creative, experimental and be willing to take many, many photographs!!!

Week 2:

What are the elements and principles of design in Photography?
​Remember to illustrate your work with either your own photographs or photographs of others.

Write about the different approaches and styles and add photographs to illustrate your findings.

What is the Aperture Triangle?

Produce an illustrated essay 
Try and use your own photographs as much as possible
(Practice what you learn with your own camera)

Week 5

What is Composition in Photography?

Please reference The Rule of Thirds, leading Lines etc
Try and use your own photographs as much as possible


Week 6:

Why is lighting so important in photography?


​Illustrate your essay, using your own photographs. Explore the use of both artificial and natural light in your photoshoot. Shoot at least 30 shots
